Eastern New Mexico Water Utility Authority closes loan grant agreement

CLOVIS, NM (KEYU) – The Eastern New Mexico Water Utilities Authority (ENMWUA) has closed a loan agreement for $20 million in financing.

The agreement will complete the budget for the 14.4-mile Raw Water 1A transmission pipeline project.

The $20 million consists of an $18 million grant and a $2 million loan.

With the financing obtained, the ENMWUA will continue with the project.

This is the second phase of three raw water pipelines in the Eastern New Mexico Rural Water System.

Other project phases under construction include Finished Water 1, a 15.5-mile pipeline, Raw Water 3, a 21.7-mile pipeline, and more.

All remaining phases of the Eastern New Mexico Rural Water System are anticipated to be fully completed by 2031.

The ENMWUA will begin issuing requests for proposals for the Raw Water 1A pipeline in early 2025.

The Eastern New Mexico Rural Water System aims to provide drinking water to four city member agencies and Cannon Air Force Base from the Ute Reservoir.
