CANYON, Texas (KEYU) -Canyon ISD has issued a statement regarding the removal of the full text of the Bible from its library.
An article from The Texan says the ban is due to compliance with House Bill 900, also known as the Restriction of Explicit and Designated Educational Resources for Adults (READER) Act.
The article also states that Canyon ISD Superintendent Darryl Flusche wrote that “the standard for library content prohibits books that have a single instance of sexual content… Therefore, HB900 does not allow numerous books, including the text complete Bible, are available in the school library.”
