This is the moment a teenage girl was dragged along a street for 15 seconds after a bus door closed and trapped her leg.
Zoe Hague, 17, was trying to board when she was caught in the door and dragged down the street as the driver drove away.
Some of the passengers on board managed to yell at the driver to stop.
But it is claimed he then left the teenager on the side of the road and continued on his route.
Zoe suffered a swollen and badly cut knee, a back injury and a concussion for three days after the incident in Sheffield on September 23.
She said: “I was getting on the bus when the doors closed and my leg got caught in the door.
‘Suddenly the bus started moving, threw me to the ground and started dragging me along the road.
“I was trying to stay upright, but my other leg was dragging on the ground and I was banging on the door trying to get the driver’s attention.
“I heard passengers shouting at him to stop, otherwise I’m afraid to think what would have happened.
‘I just knew I had to try to find a way out. I started banging on the door; my ear panicked and as I walked back I could hear people telling him to stop.’
Zoe said the driver of the bus, operated by TM Travel, opened the door to free her leg and then asked her if she still wanted to get on the bus.
She refused and instead asked her mother Cheryl to pick her up, as she was “in pain and dazed” and “in no state to go anywhere.”
The A Level student said: “I was completely stunned and my trousers were ripped revealing my bloody knee and the laces on my trainers had broken so I took my shoe off.”
“I was in no condition to go anywhere and I was in pain and dazed.”
Cheryl, from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, took Zoe to A&E where doctors confirmed she had a concussion.
But she says she “feels bad” knowing the driver left her daughter without calling the police or an ambulance.
Cheryl said: “If I had hit a cat or a hedgehog in my car I would have taken it to the vet for treatment, so leaving a teenager in that state on the side of the road is horrible.”
“She didn’t know where she was and was in a daze for a few days. I’m thankful that some passengers who found out what was happening yelled at the bus driver or I’m afraid to think what could have happened.
‘Some have contacted me since and told me they were quite shocked just to see how the incident unfolded.
‘Fortunately, that day he was wearing thick corduroy trousers which offered some protection; She often wears short skirts and has bare legs.
‘But having read about these bus-related incidents, I know they can lead to life-changing injuries and deaths.
“It sickened me to the core when I thought about it afterwards and leaving her like this without calling the police or an ambulance was the ultimate insult.”
Cheryl took Zoe to school for a few days until she recovered enough to take the bus and reported the incident to the bus company and South Yorkshire Police.
