AMARILLO, Texas (KEYU) -An Amarillo judge on Thursday sentenced a drug dealer to life in prison on several drug charges.
According to the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Leigha Simonton, Landis Barrow, 46, received a life sentence for the following charges:
- conspiracy to distribute controlled substances
- three counts of distribution of methamphetamine

- possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime
Landis Barrow’s sentencing comes about a year after his twin brother, Mandis Barrow, was sentenced to life in prison for similar crimes.
The press release states that evidence was presented at Landis Barrow’s trial that he sold or facilitated the sale of large quantities of methamphetamine to a source multiple times in late 2022.
during a February 2023 Search At Landis’ home, DEA agents found methamphetamine, cocaine, drug scales and paraphernalia, about $7,000 in cash, a gun and a ledger with his name on it.
The news release states that during a call from the Randall County Detention Center, Landis admitted to being part of a criminal organization.
During his testimony, Landis admitted to distributing about 2,200 pounds of controlled substances for a Mexican cartel. He also admitted to having managed a team and that he was a “gangster.”
Court documents and testimony also reflect that Landis is a suspect in a murder investigation, the news release states. The incident involved his retaliation for the theft of a large amount of drugs and money that occurred at a home in November 2022.
