Justin Baldoni’s lawyer speaks out after the accusations animated blake made about the director of his film “It Ends With Us.”
In a legal complaint obtained by E! News December 21 and filed with the California Department of Civil Rights, according to The New York TimesThe actress, co-producer of the film, accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation. She alleged that he made sexual and other inappropriate comments to her and used a crisis public relations expert to launch a smear campaign against her.
“It is shameful that Ms. Lively and her representatives would make such serious and categorically false allegations against Mr. Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and their representatives,” Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, said in a statement to The New York Timesin reference to the production company that the director co-founded.
The complaint was filed after months of rumors of a breakup between Baldoni and Livelywho did not promote the film together during their press tour.

The director’s lawyer called Lively’s allegations in the complaint “yet another desperate attempt to ‘fix’ her negative reputation that was garnered from her own comments and actions during the film’s campaign; interviews and press activities that were publicly observed.” , in real time and unedited, allowing the Internet to generate its own views and opinions.”

The statement continued: “These claims are completely false, outrageous and intentionally lewd with the intent to publicly hurt and repeat a narrative in the media.”
He said Wayfarer Studios “made the decision to proactively hire a crisis manager ahead of the film’s marketing campaign” due to alleged “multiple demands and threats made by Ms. Lively during production, which included threats to not show up to the set, threaten not to promote the film, which would ultimately lead to its demise during the premiere, if their demands were not met.”

In his own statement to The New York TimesLively said, “I hope that my legal action will help lift the curtain on these sinister retaliation tactics to harm people who report misconduct and help protect others who may be targeted.”
She also denied that she or any of her representatives had planted or spread negative information about Baldoni or Wayfarer, the newspaper reported.
