Man arrested for robbing woman of her French Bulldog, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A man was arrested for stealing a woman’s French Bulldog, according to the Memphis Police Department.

Deterrious Daniel is charged with robbery.

On March 15, 2024, police responded to a robbery at Mynders Avenue and Patterson Street.

According to the affidavit, The victim told police he was walking his French Bulldog, Benji, when a man approached him. and said, “Give me the dog or I will shoot you.”

There was a fight over the dog until the man pushed the victim to the ground, causing minor abrasions to his body and hands, according to police.

The man then fled with the victim’s dog.

Investigators obtained surveillance video from the area and the man involved was later identified as Daniel.

The victim positively identified Daniel in a photo array of six photographs.

Daniel was arrested on December 20 and is being held on $20,000 bond.

He is expected to appear in court on December 23.
