Staff fire shots after robbery suspects crash into Germantown jewelry store

GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (WMC) – A car crashed into a Germantown jewelry store Monday afternoon in an attempted robbery.

Police were called to the Bob Richards Jewelers store at 1696 S Germantown Road around 1 p.m.

Police say people in two different vehicles attacked the business.

Staff members fired shots inside the business in an attempt to thwart the robbery.

Germantown Police have a person of interest in custody who is being treated for a gunshot wound.

Police also recovered one of the vehicles involved in the robbery.

Police say no staff members reported injuries.
