MEMPHIS, Texas (KEYU) -Here’s what we know about Seth Altman, a 33-year-old man accused of shooting the Memphis police chief and who went to jail. Texas DPS Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitives List.
The 33-year-old has drawn attention across the state after a Blue Alert was sent out across the state early Friday morning.
Altman is wanted for shooting of Memphis Police Chief Rex Plant Thursday night as officers served a warrant on Altman on a robbery charge.
A warrant was issued for Altman’s arrest for attempted capital murder of a law enforcement officer.
He also has prior charges including assault causing bodily injury to a family member, assault causing bodily injury, vehicle theft, evading arrest and criminal trespass.
Texas DPS is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to Altman’s arrest. The FBI is also offering a $5,000 reward.
Altman is a 6′2″ white male who weighs about 220 pounds. He has brown or auburn hair and blue eyes. He is also known for wearing glasses.
Altman also has ties to Childress or may visit her.
He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see Altman, do not approach him and call 9-1-1.
