Woman’s car stolen by man she met on dating app, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The Memphis Police Department is searching for a man they say is responsible for stealing a car during a dating app meeting.

On December 21, 2024, at approximately 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a robbery call at the Memphis Inn in Macon Cove.

When officers arrived, they were told the victim’s 2023 Toyota Camry had been stolen.

The vehicle was later recovered unoccupied.

MPD says the person responsible was an acquaintance of the victim; the victim met the person through a dating app and provided a photo of the suspect. The name of the suspect is unknown.
